When I was told that I may be eligible for Cochlear Implant surgery to restore my hearing loss I went searching for information.What I didn't find was someone who had documented their own journey Pre, During and Post surgery.

I did find lots of testimonials where recipients were giving interviews to either their audiologist or the cochlear implant company they had chosen. I wanted something a little more raw, real and informative. So I decided that I would document my own journey for the future benefit of others.

The other thing I found out was that I had a choice, there were multiple brands to choose from. With a professional background in Live Concert Sound and also Audiophile HiFi, the specifications and technical differences were a huge factor to my personal decision, and also one that really was not easy to get simple answers to. Public Speaking

Receiving a cochlear implant has ignited a passion within me to support and educate others. Through group support and public speaking, I strive to empower individuals navigating hearing loss challenges while also enlightening and motivating the professionals who play crucial roles in supporting them. Together, we can foster understanding, resilience, and a brighter future for all affected by hearing loss.

Cochlear Implants for some is a restoration of life even career. Witnessing someone reenter their profession or young people with Hearing Loss using hearing technology to forge careers is deeply inspiring. Personally, my Hearing Loss meant a loss of my profession, compelling me to reinvent myself, not only for my benefit but also for the love of those around me and others with a hearing loss.
